Painting, movement and sound are all forms of expression that have found a way into my life. The discipline of painting has mystery and many challenges, bringing five-dimensional visions into two-dimensional form.
My intention is to use the creative process as a vehicle to awaken
the imagination of myself and hopefully the viewer. Upholding
curiosity and not requiring interpretation. Allowing the language of
color, shape and symbols to convey a form of poetry of their own.
The figure holds a lot information for me in its form and I like trying to
capture this in art.
As a young girl I was creating - outside with nature, inside creating wearable art, and in school projects - and my mother encouraged this in me and predisposed me to oil
painting portraits at the young age of 11. Later I studied classical oil painting portraiture with Numael Pulido. I also took figurative sculpture classes at Rhode Island School of Design.
I reside on the coast of Maine as an artist, nurse, reiki practioner and creative movement instructor. |
